The Fire Line is Trevor Ferguson's 1995 literary novel about Reed Kitchen, an eccentric, relentlessly talkative lifelong railway worker who travels to a bridge-repair job near Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Against a rugged coastal and railway setting, Reed encounters deception, violence, unexpected alliances, and narrow escapes in a story noted for its lyrical, unconventional use of language.

This is the first Canadian edition and first printing, published in Toronto by HarperCollins Publishers Ltd. The copyright page states First edition and carries the complete hardcover number line ending in 1. ISBN 0-00-224393-8.

The title page is signed and inscribed by Trevor Ferguson. The handwritten inscription is personalized and extensive, although portions of its wording and recipient's name are difficult to decipher from the photograph.

Hardcover with dust jacket, seller-graded Very Good. The jacket shows light handling and minor edge wear, and the sampled interior pages show mild age-related toning or light spotting.
