The Haunting of L. is Howard Norman’s atmospheric literary suspense novel and the concluding volume of his Canadian trilogy. Set primarily in 1920s Manitoba and Halifax, it follows Peter Duvett, a young assistant to portrait photographer Vienna Linn. Peter is drawn into Linn’s disturbing work, a dangerous romantic triangle, and a fascination with spirit photographs in which figures from the past seem to reappear.
