Polar Passage: The Historic First Sail Through the Northwest Passage by Jeff MacInnis with Wade Rowland. Published in Toronto by Random House of Canada Limited in 1989, this illustrated hardcover account chronicles MacInnis and photographer Mike Beedell’s approximately 4,000-kilometre sail-powered journey through the Canadian Arctic and Northwest Passage.
The narrative combines exploration history with a firsthand story of endurance, navigation and survival in Arctic conditions. The volume contains maps, colour photographs and an index. The expedition also received National Geographic coverage and was the subject of a feature-length television production.
This copy is personally inscribed and signed by Jeff MacInnis on the title page: “To Cheryl: Dream-Dare-Do!” The signature is accompanied by a large handwritten flourish. This is a personalized author inscription rather than a flat-signed copy.
