No Cure for Love
A signed 1995 Canadian first edition and first printing of No Cure for Love by Peter Robinson, published in hardcover by Viking/Penguin Books Canada. The copyright page states “First published 1995,” and its complete number line includes the numeral 1. ISBN 0-670-86533-8.
This standalone crime thriller takes Robinson outside his Inspector Banks series and into 1990s Los Angeles. British actress Sarah Broughton begins receiving disturbing letters from an obsessive admirer, drawing LAPD Threat Management Unit detectives Arvo Hughes and Maria Hernandez into an increasingly dangerous investigation. The novel was a finalist for the 1996 Arthur Ellis Award for Best Crime Novel.
Peter Robinson personally inscribed and signed the title page in blue ink. The inscription is addressed “To Ken” and appears to read, “Thanks for coming. Hope you enjoy this change of scene,” followed by Robinson’s signature. This is a personalized author-inscribed copy rather than a flat-signed example.
The book is in Very Good condition with very minor page toning. The bright pictorial dust jacket has light handling and minor edge and spine-end wear, including a small nick or scuff near the lower spine area. The dust jacket is now protected in a removable clear plastic cover. Please review the photographs for the inscription and copy-specific condition.
