Elizabeth Miles is an American young adult novelist and award-winning journalist who gained prominent recognition for blending classic mythology with edgy, modern psychological suspense. Raised in Chappaqua, New York, she graduated from Boston University in 2004 before relocating to Maine, where she built a successful career as an investigative reporter for the alternative newsweekly The Portland Phoenix, earning honors from the New England Press Association. Writing under a pseudonym, she vaulted into the literary spotlight with her 2011 debut paranormal thriller, Fury, which transports the ancient Furies—the mythological Greek goddesses of divine retribution—into a contemporary, snow-bound New England high school to stalk and punish teenagers for their hidden, cruel mistakes. Published by Simon & Schuster, the critically praised, atmospheric book launched a popular trilogy that includes the sequels Envy (2012) and Eternity (2013).
