Daniel Gordis is an American-born author and rabbi who has lived in Jerusalem since 1998. He helped found Shalem College, where he is Koret Distinguished Fellow. His books address Jewish thought, Zionism, and contemporary Israel; they include Israel: A Concise History of a Nation Reborn and Saving Israel.
