C.S. Richardson (Charles Scott Richardson; born 1955) is a Canadian novelist and book designer. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, he built a long career in Canadian publishing alongside his fiction. His work as a designer has received multiple Alcuin Awards for Excellence in Book Design, an honour that recognizes Canadian book design.
Richardson’s debut novel, The End of the Alphabet, won the 2008 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book (Canada and the Caribbean) and was published internationally in numerous countries and languages. His second novel, The Emperor of Paris, is a historical novel centred on a baker, books, art, and Paris; it was longlisted for the 2012 Scotiabank Giller Prize.
