Brandon Mull (born 1974) is an American author of children’s and middle-grade fantasy. He is known especially for Fablehaven and its related Dragonwatch sequence, as well as the Beyonders, Five Kingdoms, and The Candy Shop War series. His official biography and publishers describe several of these series as New York Times bestsellers.
Mull graduated from Brigham Young University in 2000. He wrote short fiction through high school and college, then began a first novel that was rejected before an editor at Shadow Mountain Publishing invited him to submit another project. That project became Fablehaven, which established his career. His fiction commonly places young protagonists in hidden or secondary worlds shaped by magic, quests, and invented creatures.
The catalog title Death Weavers is the fourth book in the Five Kingdoms series; it follows Cole’s journey through the kingdom of Necronum and the echolands. Mull received a Whitney Award for General Young Adult Fiction for Fablehaven 2: Rise of the Evening Star.
